Champagne Baggage

A look through the most beautiful and distorted rose colored lens. . .providing insight on art, design, fashion, tasty-bits, social events, people, and anything that fuels a bubbly-cultured-good time and remember to pour your champagne at a slight slant.

Images from the exhibition/collection White Drama, parading down the runway:

Birth marriage, death, and transcendence on display…in avant-garde shades of white and irregular shapes, fabric manipulated like sculpture.

Opps…a left over from London…so behind! We have moved on to Milan and I’m still stuck in London-on the catch up as we speak.

Mary Katrantzou

Fall 2012

London

Katrantzou delivered per usual, but for me personally I have always enjoyed what she has to offer-I am a man of lines,Katrantzou’s lines are so very interesting…architectural, yet flowing, bright colors cut with a thick linear line finally exploded across the form-rigid, yet not at all normative. . I love it.

beau et une perfection!

My favorite from London Fashion Week…why can’t we see winter clothes during winter?

I love it. Layers, furs, coats=smart-smart, not to mention a whimsical runway set based on Maurice Sendak’s Wild-Things.

FASHION-FASHION-FASHION… . As the tents fade away from Lincoln Center, The fashion elite take a respite for a moment…reflecting on another fashion week swallowed up by Father Time-attitudes and coats checked at the door-sweet relief and a rest.
To put a wrap on NYFW, lets take a look at some of the more “eccentric” shows-garments-styling. Where to begin…
(In all honesty…I still have about 200 images to scan through for my favorite looks for Fall 2012-but an “eccentric”/”eclectic”/ “FUZZY”/”Masculine and done” post is so so SO THE WEEKEND and is the best kind of baggage)

Fall 2012

(Sock puppets from hell *think Lamb Chop for those of us who actually remember watching Shari and the Chops on PPS* have taken over Lincoln center… if a killing spree-mass genocide of all woodland creatures wasn’t enough…those bastard sock puppets had to parade the skins of their victims around like a ticker-tape parade on crack. . again…sigh)

Fall 2012

(Wow…I’ve never seen menswear translated into womenswear… nothing says I’m a distinguished lady-man with old-money like a stuffed quail-ish creature nailed my lapel… oh and don’t forget my cane/top hat…one can never be too prepared. S0 HIGHBROW)

Marc Jacobs

Fall 2012

NYC

(How many Troll dolls had to die to make those fuzzy hats…a sad day for Troll dolls and their awkward lovers everywhere…sigh)

Chris Benz

Fall 2012

NYC

(Forecast for Fall 2012: big hair, big hats (thank you again Mr. Jacobs), matronly-ill-fitting garments … pulled from a 1960’s era airliner flight attendants uniform, bad posture mixed with vacant looks into nothingness, OH and the HOTTEST trend…skinny models with-gargantuan bobble heads *think Peanuts character sized heads AKA: Charlie Brown*… so much to look forward to in the fall! Better get your cardboard box decorated with electrical tape *gaffers tape* immediately, before Home Depot runs out!)
