Christine Quinn: I’ve had a number of conversations with people who disagree with marriage equality, disagree with different lgbt issues. and you know what? Two people who disagree, sitting down, and taking in a dignified why-leads to a deeper understanding . . you should treat other human beings even if you disagree with them, even if you dislike who they are, in a respectful way.
The justice was disrespectful to me and my family. and that doesn’t further my understanding of him better of him understanding me better, which is ultimately where we all want to be headed in life.
Chris Matthews: you sound like a smart politician…

I have been reading about this battle in the making for a long time… finally Dallas’ Museum Tower is breaking international art news. A tower erected 200 times more reflective than allowed by building code, has in a quick moment changed the architecture, program, and mission of the famed Nasher Sculpture Center.
The Nasher was designed by Renzo Piano and is known for its wide corridors, open spaces, and use of natural light-by the use of large skylights and windows. The reflective surface of the new Museum Tower has shut down galleries, and has put works by Picasso, Elliott Hundley, James Turrell (to name a few currently, but other planned exhibitions are now being second-guessed) into dark spaces, or into storage.
What made the Center unique and what has made it so important in contemporary art is being scorched away-killed by those who had the intention to highlight the works by bringing in people through commerce and growth…instead have changed and manipulated the very core of their own project, and might have ruined something precious-not just for Dallas, but for us all.
Greed-misuse-abuse. Sad, shame on you Dallas, shame.
“absolutely insane.”-Renzo Piano

This is awful, the act of moving this site specific work by Matisse from its original and intended space is unjust…
I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to see the collection where it was intended to be seen-it was honestly one of the most breathtaking moment of my life and I will never forget it.
Shame on Philadelphia. Shame.

Welcome to Dinner with Marina Abramovic… a divisive experience at best.
Yvonne Rainer-An Artist’s Life Manifesto” to be “grotesque” and “exploitative” in its use of underpaid performers to create a queasy spectacle for wealthy patrons. The concept, she added, put her in mind of Pasolini’s 1975 Facist sexual torture film “Salo.”

Is Nudity Pornography Facebook?

Today Ai Weiwei said in a livechat on MSNBC, “In 10 years China will be a very different society.” That will no doubt be in part due to the Internet, technology and social media. But today I’m also left wondering — what kind of social media do we want leading the way?
